The Missing Piece of the Burnout Puzzle
Here’s an all-too-common scenario: high-achieving leaders and professionals feel increasingly demotivated and unfulfilled by their old drives and dreams. What used to excite them has lost its luster, and they’re craving more meaning and fulfillment in both life and work. They feel stuck and disillusioned. They may suffer burnout symptoms and performance setbacks, allow their fear of the unknown to keep them mired in misery, trade one unsatisfying job for another, or find that their work-related despair is infecting their personal lives as well.
What if the sense of dissatisfaction and disengagement they’re experiencing in their work isn't burnout after all? What if, instead, it's an invitation to something deeper and greater than they've ever experienced before? What if they're not stalling out but growing in a powerful new way? In this session, you’ll learn how these experiences actually fit neatly into an adult development stage theory which psychologists have been using for decades, most commonly called “Vertical Development.” This mid-career angst is a common symptom of crossing over from one developmental stage to the next. For leaders, understanding how to navigate this shift can turn a season of burnout into a season of incredible transformation.
This session will give you tools and techniques to apply with leaders so they can embrace this growth and find more fulfillment in work and life.
Coaches: Are You Missing Out on 5 Core Competencies by Failing to Master This One?
Join Anne Kelly, PCC; Jennifer Lukas, ACC, Board of Directors, ICF Metro DC Chapter; and Gloria Valentine, ACC, Leadership Coach, PowerfulPerspectives.org, as we delve into the enormous topic of Ethical Coaching.

This session will unlock ICF requirements and clarify the Domino Effect: Missing out on one competency and its negative impact on FIVE other Competencies. As a result of demystifying Coaching Ethics, your roadmap to the next level of Coaching will be clearer.
After this session, coaches will know the importance of the basic foundation exploration and evoking skills that underlie the ICF definition of coaching, skills which, in turn, empower us to demonstrate all eight of the coaching competencies.
This is a highly interactive session, and the content is appropriate for ACCs, PCCs, MCCs, and coach applicants. Plus, we have fun!

Doing the Coach Dance Across Generations
For the first time in our history there are five generations working together in the workforce. Each of these generations were shaped by different historical events that influence their worldview, core values and expectations for the workplace. These differences create challenges in the workplace for leaders in navigating the complexity of staff relationships and ensuring an engaging productive workplace for staff who may possess different expectations for their role, their career trajectory, how they are treated and supported at work. In this interactive session we will explore how generational differences have created challenges for coachees and how we can support their continued growth through coaching.
Participants will leave with increased knowledge about complexity, how complexity shows up in coaching and learn simple practices they can immediately apply in their work.

- Embracing diversity of thought and how it enhances coaching effectiveness.
- Encouraging clients to let go of biases, labels, and limiting beliefs.
- Practical strategies for fostering inclusivity and support within coaching practices.
Session objectives are to:
1. Understand the impact of DEIA on coaching practices.
2. Learn how to help clients look through diverse lenses to achieve their goals.
3. Gain practical tools to implement DEIA principles in coaching.

Turning Your Coaching Skills into Coaching Revenue
Did anyone tell you that as a coach, you already have all the skills you need to grow your business exponentially?
Coaches keep chasing that ‘magic’ skill that will suddenly bring more clients in or try to learn hard core ‘sales’ skills that might seem ever so elusive or difficult to pinpoint. Over time this constant pursuit for skills that seem to be beyond reach becomes a big hurdle to growing a business!
Karen Cappello, MCC, will show you how you don’t need to chase these other skills. You already have all the competencies you need to be able to grow your business, it’s just that you haven’t leveraged what’s right in front of you yet. Join us for this hands-on training, where you will walk away with everything you need to know to make your next quarter, your best quarter.

When Power Gets in the Way: Coaching Leaders through the Lens of Power
There’s an old saying: the higher you rise, the funnier your jokes. But it’s no joke that power changes you. It alters your perceptions, judgment, and behavior. What’s less known is that power doesn’t just change you, it changes the world around you. People are less willing to speak up, trust their perceptions, and take risks. They give you less honest—and less accurate—feedback. The result? The more impact you have, the harder it is for you to see it. You’re leading through a distorting lens of power.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about the blind spot power creates; gain skills for helping leaders navigate the challenges of their high-power roles; and come away with a deepened understanding of your own relationship to power, so you can support your client to be their best, and bring out the best in the people they lead.
Clear The Noise
Expand your coaching toolkit with music and movement! In this interactive session, we will explore how systems of oppression impact the experiences of people with marginalized social identities and how dance can serve as a coaching modality.
Mainstream society and workplaces were not designed for marginalized identity groups. We have internalized oppressive messages by learning the choreography of the dominant culture, instead of dancing to our own rhythms. In session, we will reconnect with body and spirit using music and movement. We will share our experiences of learning and unlearning oppression, recognizing that the path to liberation requires self compassion and collective support.

Synergistic Sales: The Art & Science of Securing Clients with Cooperation!
“Pushy” “Sleazy” “Manipulative” “Dishonest” “Fake”
These are the top five words used to describe Sales & Selling in a poll of 5,000 Americans. (Daniel Pink)
Do you feel like this? Most likely, it’s because we view sales as adversarial…”Us against them,” as if we’re trying to manipulate prospective clients into buying something they don’t want. It doesn’t have to be this way. In fact, by our very nature, coaches should make the best salespeople in the world!
Introducing Synergistic Sales… Partnering in cooperation with your potential clients to create a whole that is greater than the simple sum of its parts. In this training, we’ll blend the science (proven, specific steps) and art (your style and authenticity) of the discovery session to earn more clients in an ethical, cooperative, trusting, and respectful manner. You will never feel negative about selling again!

Take Your Coaching to the Next Level - Could the Answer be Vertical Development?
Global Leadership Associates are pioneers and world leaders in the field of adult development theory and practise - commonly known as vertical development.
Come and explore with us the field of adult development, Torbert’s seven stages, and how it can transform your coaching. We believe that knowing your own ‘world view’ and that of your client and integrating that awareness into your practice will take your coaching to another level. As coaches, we are often partnering with clients in various transitions and deepening self-awareness. GLA's research indicates that a majority of adults are bridging (transitioning) stages of development. Understanding one's own worldview and where clients are could further support timely coaching questions in the fluid process of development.
We will also be sharing exciting news about MyWorldView, the world’s first fully validated, reliable, and scalable AI-scored vertical measure. See a video here.
This workshop will be facilitated by Bill Pullen, former academic director of the Institute for Transformational Leadership at Georgetown and a senior coach with GLA, Aman Gohal, senior coach with GLA and also director of the Leadership Coaching Program at Georgetown University and Richard Izard, Co-founder of GLA.

From Adversary to Ally: How To Coach The Inner Critic
Regardless of the type of coaching you do, we all run into the brick walls built by that voice in our head that says we’re not good enough in one way or another. We feel it firsthand as it stops us from confidently growing our businesses, makes us think we need yet another certification or course, or holds us back from charging our true worth. And it’s not just us—our clients face it also. Whether it’s in their struggles with confidence, battling feelings of being a fraud, or getting stuck in procrastination and confusion, our clients need a way out too.
Despite various tools available, many provide only temporary relief without addressing the root cause. So, how do we help ourselves and our clients move past the inner critic in a way that is effective and sustainable without having to be a therapist? That’s what we’ll explore in this presentation.

As these new AI-driven technologies continue to evolve, the nature of coaching and how we define coaching will continue to change in unexpected ways. Emotions Matter! Identify Your Motivational Fingerprint to Pursue the Life You Want
Over the past few decades, in study after study, emotional forces have been shown to massively outweigh human rationality in determining our actual choices and actions. This insight is reshaping both science and industry as its power is harnessed for therapeutic and commercial ends. Understanding this dynamic can enable coaches to better serve their clients, our coaching practices and our personal lives.
What are "first principles" underlying all human motivation? This session explores such principles within the context of two fundamental questions:
· “Where in your life do you wish to make a change?”
· “What level of change do you wish to make?”
Also, this session includes an opportunity to experience a newly developed 3-minute online measurement tool that enables coach attendees to clearly identify their key emotional needs and those of their clients as well as get started on a personal path to emotional fulfillment.
Learned Bravery: Empowering Transformational Change in Coaching
Being an effective coach and change-agent requires bravery: the bravery to challenge deeply embedded world views, the bravery to listen without internalizing, and the bravery to explore unchartered territory that could benefit the client.
Despite the importance of bravery in coaching, fear can cut off the pivotal conversations and actions needed for desired, lasting change. Wonderfully, research on adult development shows that bravery is a skill that can be learned and developed – and it is cumulative so that each brave step creates a foundation for another brave step.
Learned Bravery is the focus of this workshop! Learned Bravery is an evidence-based process for learning and developing the bravery needed to facilitate and support transformational change!"

Navigating Suicidality: A Guide for Life Coaches
Coaches may encounter moments where a client says something that raises concerns about their well-being, particularly regarding thoughts of suicide. Knowing how to respond is essential. Discussing suicide is not outside the scope of practice for life coaches. While treating the symptoms are, asking the right questions, and encouraging individuals to connect with appropriate resources are well within the realm of effective coaching. It is a social responsibility for any human being. The CDC is reporting that approximately 5 humans per hour die of suicide in the U.S., and talking about it is the most effective means of prevention. The workshop: "Navigating Suicidality: A Guide for Life Coaches" offers an interactive learning experience tailored to equip coaches with the skills and confidence to respond to a client thinking about suicide. What better way to take your coaching to the next level than by learning how to save your client’s life?
